Post impressions....
...I didn't care for gameflow, have to remember the d-pad opens windows to make adjustments. Honestly felt like I was playing Madden 10, except for the sideline catches. |

So far, the biggest thing I notice is it is super easy to pass, not sure what difficulty it is on.
I really like the new kicking meter, very helpful when trying to pin your opponent deep on a punt.
I really need to get used to using the D-Pad, I felt lost when I was trying to audible or hot route a player.
Haven't tried gameplan yet but if it works it should be very helpful.

Im not reading great things on the net. OS has some very negative comments.
This is the best line of a post.....If that's not bad enough - Cris Collinsworth still calls Gus Johnson "Tom" on a number of occasions. Are you kidding me, guys? Commentary is a "Back of the Box" feature this year, and there isn't the follow-through to EDIT the Collinsworth audio to reflect it? That's bad, man.
I will wait to download tomorrow and see just how bad it is. Hopefully EA didnt take the franchise back a few years with the D-pad control.

The default difficult is Pro, but its a little harder to pass when on all-madden,but you know how to make reads passing is easy anyway. |

Personally didn't like it. Definitely different than Madden 10. As you guys all have said, the D-Pad is going to take a HECK of a lot of adjusting. Not a fan of GameFlow either. M10 feels more natural to me at this point...idk, maybe I'll get used to it. Peyton was tearing me apart with his passing. I felt like the game was too close (considering everyone else seemed to be winning by 100000).
Interested to hear your take PM when you get around to it.

I just played the demo and it feels different than the E3 version. I think I like NCAA again more than Madden this year. Hope the final version is way different, but I dont have a very good feeling about it.

This is going to be the first time I dont buy madden ever since I got into the franchise. EA needs to step it up instead of releasing the same bullsh*t each year.

The announcing is actually quite funny....lol. EVERYTHING Tom Hammond said in M10 is word for word switched over to Gus Johnson's voice. They could of at least had Gus Johnson read some new lines....lol. Some of the things he says with that Tony the Tiger growling of the words is hilarious.
yep....but so did NCAA, in fact they took out the best part of NCAA announcing (Lee Corso). All I can is.......bring on NHL 11 !!! That's going to be the best sports title again this year, just like it's been for the past 2 years. |

So I gave it another shot today and I just dont have a great feeling about the game yet as a whole now that I have the chance to play it without crowds and noise all around me...
Pro's
- Looks good
- Stadium seems alive...J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets! Is cool...
- New Plays
- D-Pad adjustments (People bitch because of change but I think its better than the bumpers. Takes getting used to though.)
Cons
- Play of the Game (Crunchtime) - An extra point by the Colts when I won the game 42-14?
- On second touchdown by Colts Wayne caught the TD behind the white paint at the back of the endzone. No review?
- I think the game as a whole is downgraded to make it accessible to less skilled players(kicking meter, gameflow, coin toss even looks elementary)
- Cris Collinsworth is again a total moron as usual
- Gameflow - UG!

disagree with the the second part of the con demos dont have full features so they wont have challenges. i still disagree with people hating the gameflow. when i play madden i want to feel like the coach is telling me what they want to run. now with gameflow i get that chance.so when you the jets you feel like you are playing as the real life jets. the only thing i agree with you with your con is cris collinsowrth they should of replace him and put chris berman or sh*t bring bring pat summerall lmfao

NHL is also turning into garbage. The gameplay and gamemodes are fun and I really put a lot of time into team play. I had more then 1500 games for the past couple years. If you take a look at the forums for NHL, they are unplayable. NHL has too many online glitches to be played competitively for a long period of time. The sad part is that EA refuses to do anything about it, Release a quick patch to fix a game breaking goal glitch and it makes NHL one of the best games out there...but nope. |

Disappointed, as I thought I would be. So definitely not getting it. IF they would've improved online franchise, I might've overlooked the game's shortcomings and bought it for the franchise part (i.e.-FA, salary caps, scouting, trading, etc)
NCAA has treated me well so far, while it is by far not a perfect game, it works until EA gets their act together with Madden. |

The sad part is...if Madden 11 sales are down i can see EA shutting down the Madden 10 servers in order to force gamer's hands. Madden 11 so far seems like a step backward from 10. I guess when they say Simpler.Quicker.Deeper they are referring to the arcade side of things.

Actually there are challenges in the Madden 11 demo. I know because I have had two challenges so far during the demo. As a matter of fact one of the challenges made absolutely no sense. My running back fumbled the ball but I was out of bounds so it didn't matter. The other team still challenged the call and the play got reversed. Of course since the ball was out bounds it didn't matter and I still retained possession. It was very strange. |

Lets just hope EA made a bonehead move and used code that was like 3 months old for the demo otherwise its not going to be pretty for Madden 11. I can't believe they would even put out a demo with this many gameplay issues.

NFL teams don't have to operate under a salary cap anymore. Still I would like to see free agency added to the online franchise mode.

It is not like you could go sign anyone you wanted either, only available free agents this off-season, and there were only a couple of difference makers available IMO. Edited by The Dude 419 - Jul 29 2010 at 1:21pm |

That's only for this coming year, until they get a collective bargaining agreement done. If they don't then it's PLAYER STRIKE time !!!!
What do you mean, that's called job security!!!! Now EA has something to do for Madden 12, ensure they improve upon the backwards step they took with 11. |

They will be patching the D-Pad, based upon feedback.
Interesting stats though. I can see their logic for this move.
