Xbox Live - On Friday, June 19th, 2009 at approximately midnight EST Xbox Live experienced its first LIVE marriage proposal in front of thousands of Xbox Live Subscribers. It took place during a beta run of the Live version of 1 vs 100 on Xbox Live. The host of the show, Chris Cashman, came on the air at about 11:50 PM EST and had a fellow by the name of Justin on the line whom said he was about to propose live over the phone.
1 vs 100 allows for folks to send an email in with their name, location and phone number with the possibility of receiving a phone call while the show is Live. And well, thats what happened. Justin received a call from the folks at Microsoft, namely Chris Cashman, and he informed them he was about to propose. So they kept him on the line for the end of the show where they would allow him to do it over the air.
So once the game ended, the audio for the game stayed on and you heard Chris talking to Justin. Chris asked where his fiance was and he replied, "She's in the other room". So while we held on the line eavsdropping, Justin made his way into the other room and popped the question. His fiance, Heather, was shocked to say the least but immediately answered with a confused yet giggly "Yes". By the sounds of it, Justin then handed the phone over to heather and Cashman started talking with her.
"So is there a ring involved?", Cashman said.
"Yes.", Heather responded.
Cashman went on to tell her that this was done live on Xbox Live in front of thousands. Heather responded with, "Thats him. He's an Xbox Live fanatic."
So there you have it. The audio wrapped up with Cashman talking about this being the first ever live marriage proposal across the Xbox Live Network in front of thousands. Congratulations from XXLGaming to both Justin and Heather and the best of luck in your future. Justin and Heather can boast that they made history tonight on Xbox Live and hoepfully will have a long history together from this day forward.
Again, congrats guys!!! |
